Criticisms
Goes of talking about himself a lot.
Talks fast sometimes and you cant understand what he is saying
Song "S&M" cuts out half way through for him to take a phone call and it is not a smooth transition and sounds awkward.
There is a few silent pauses that could be filled with jingles and him speaking.

Positive Comments
The presenter is funny and comical.
Most the time the show flows nicely
Hes always wants people to ring up and is happy to accept phone calls and emails and read them out on the show.
Very friendly and his accent fits in with the radio station because he has a East London accent and its for people who prefer urban music.

Most of the music they play is quite related and quite heavy and if you don't like this genre then you might turn the radio off or loose interest.
Very rehearsed ans scripted this sometimes is seen as static.
Some of the conversations are completely irrelevant.
Gives background information into everything that she plays as some people might see this as a advantage but others can see this pointless.

Positive Comments
Covers a lot of subjects so a wide variety of people will be interested
Theres a lot where the audience can get involved. Where they can "have their vote" "give their thoughts"
Gives a regular "News beat" so new listeners can always catch the news.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have found it hard to use the technology because I am not used to logic what we used or any of the programmes or microphones that we used either. I found podcast very complicated and I'm still not comfortable using it. Sometimes when we used the microphone our speech projected to be quiet. We connected a mic to a laptop and run the audio through Logic. This helped because when we was recording we could listen back and decide weather it was good enough to put into our piece. Using Logic we could edit different bits of audio together easily and it was also easy to cut bits that went wrong. Logic also has many sound effects. For the outside broadcasting we just recorded the outside noise put it onto logic and spoke over it. Using this soft wear we could see what volume we had to put the mic at to be able to hear us clearly over the outside noise. We used the same equipment in are preliminary as out final peice as we already knew how to use it and the preliminary abled us to get used to how to use it and you can tell that we are a lot more comfortable using it whilst recording our final piece.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
For the preliminary task we didn't know how to use the software so we found this to be a lot more uneven recording, whereas in the final piece we had learnt how we could edit pieces of audio to make it sound more even. We had also got to grips with how far away we had to talk into the microphone. When we first started in our preliminary we we indecisive what to write our scrip on and there was arguments in the group on who would say what. Our preliminary we found that Jamie had the clearer voice and was more understandable and comfortable having conversation and had the least rehearsed voice. This is why we gave him the most to say and our preliminary helped us achieve this. In the preliminary when we got to the end of the scrip we realised that we hadn't made the script fill out the time that was needed. So in the final task we made sure we went through and made sure and did a run through of the script before we actually did our first recording. All in all I think that our group at first did not really get on because of the big personalities but now we have worked with each other we can all listen to each other and each others ideas and see where one another is coming from and not just pass judge the ideas. Another thing that we have learnt as a group is to work with other groups and ask people if we can interview them.

Who would be the audience of your media product be? And how does it represent a particular social group?
I believe that out 5 minute radio show is projected at 16-35 year olds. I believe this is because when we speak on the radio we are speaking in not "proper English" and we are also using "slang" that people of the older generation might not understand. Also the topics that we cover like "Danny Sabarta" upcoming new artist out this is going to interest younger people and they are the only ones going to go on the website and look up some of his knew songs. Also he name drops "Professor Green" this is a well recognised new artist. I think this is aimed at both genders. I think this ranges up to the age of 35 because we cover local news and we also cover wide spread news. Younger people might not be so interested by this but we thought it was important to include this as it can give us a wider audience, although some people under the age of 20 could also be interested. We also play "Katy Perry's new song Hummingbird Heartbeat" this is something people of a younger age would listen to.

How did you attract/address the audience?
We had a variety of ways. Mainlyby sounding enthusiastic about everything. We had to sound friendly and we asked each other a lot of open ended questions this we thought would make the audience think to themselves about their own answers to the questions. We also used quite a few outside broadcasts we thought this would make people want to listen more because its other peoples views. We put the news in so that people would want to find out whats going on in the area and more wide spread When we did the "weekly public question" we thought this would engage the listener more and add a bit of humour to the show. When we did our research on other radio stations we found that they was always happy to get the listener involved and because we couldn't anwser any phone calls we figured that doing outside broadcasts was the closest thing. Also by itrodroducing us three at the beginning of the show gives the listerner a bit to know about us because we wanted the listener to feel like they knew us so they would tune in everytime we was on the radio doing our show.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
comparing radio 1 breakfast show 2/03/11 hosted by Fearne cotton

I think that radio one would distribute out show because it is along the same lines. They interview new artists like we did. Radio 1 interviewed Lady Gaga about her new video. and we interviewed "Danny Sabarta" about his material coming out. They also did a news beat like we did. They covered more international stories world wide we covered two but they covered about five, This shows that they have a wider audience than we do. Although they didn't have a weather forecast like us maybe they should add one in to make the subject of their radio station wider. Switch radio broardcasted about the local stabbings and so did Radio 1 this shows that they cover the same stories and are set out for roughly the same aged audience. Although Radio 1 is a radio station that broadcasts all over the country so their audience would be bigger.

Notes about how you contributed to the task
As a individual i have contributed trying to look up some local news to inclde this was more diffucult than i thought because most of the radio stations and on the internet was covering world wide storys and news. I asked my friends what they would think of including local and widespread news and they came back with that they would rather listen to local news because it appeals to them more. I also lets some people in my year listen to our prelimiary and asked them what they thought on it. We asked them to be honest so we could put into our final peice the stuff they found good. One of the main points they said was that they liked the humour so we kept the hunour on our final peice. They also gave us critisms like we was speaking to loud and it was becoming disjointed so we tried to make all the volumes the same when it came to editing. But we found this to be one of the hardest things to do. I also listened to quite a few radio stations to see how their radio is scripted and how it flows from one subject to another. So when we was writing the script i found it easy to contribute my ideas as I had quite a lot of background information. I found that the many hours of research that I did payed off in the end because I had a clearer idea of what we had to achieve. I also researched the weather i understood that it didn't have to be the truth be I decided to use the real weather as it gave our radio station more realisation. When we was speaking the radio what i found from the other radio stations is that they spoke in an interesting way when they was doing the weather to make people interested whereas when they was speaking the news they would be serious because it was serious matters and can be sensitive. Another thing that I did was put the outside soundtrack over the what was meant to be the "outside broadcasts" I made this sound authentic and made sure that the outside noise wasn't too loud over the people speaking. I also came up with the idea of interviewing a new upcoming artist because of the audience that we aim to please. I thought this would be interesting and would also be good press for the new upcoming artists. When i did my research Radio 1 do the same thing by interviewing new artists. Another thing is to play Katy Perry's new song at the end, when I did my research on radio 1 they were playing new songs and asking for feedback and phone calls. So we thought that this "new song" would get our audience talking and be interested in out show. We all wrote the script together but we all put our separate ideas into it, and we all had our own section to cover. We all listened to each others ideas and gave each other our feedback on it.

An analysis of how these clips fit into theory of your choice
Our radio newsbeat was recorded  from radio 1 at twelve oclock on the 1st March. While people are going about their daily business whilst tuning into the show. I think they include the news because it is a mid day news beat that in only two mintutes long. This will give the audiance of the radio station a quick news update but yet not really interupt the radio show.
The first news story is about how over 1000 soliders have lost their jobs over email. I believe they included this story because the soilders of the united Kingdom and they are highly respected people and they are thought "not to paid enough for their job" and now they are getting sacked over email people will have something to say on the matter and get intouch with the show. This engages the listerner more and so they will keep tuned in.
The second news story is about the soilder being killed in afghanistan this links in with the story before as it is still on the topic of soliders. This also being linked in with the story before shows that they can train all their lives but being sacked just like that and they are putting their lives on the line what shows that they have more than just a average job. This makes the listerner be sympathetic towards the story "thoughts go out to his family." It makes them also stayed tuned in because it is a very serious matter and they stay engaged in the show.
The next story is about David Beckham. This shows  a completely diffrent perspective on the world. That people say that footballres earn too much and soliders earn too less. People are going to listen if they are intrested in this or they are football fans and as most of the male population . So this is alredy atrracting another audiance of males this is limiting their audiance a bit because more males than females like football but it shows the radio station is including sport news as it goes on the the story about Carlo Ancelotti teams Chelseas defeat.
This links in nicely with what has just been said about David Beckham because both storys link in with the sports world. Including sport in your newsbeat is good because it gives listerners a wider logic on the news and can also reel listerners in if they are intrested in the certain subject in the case it is football.
